Established in Richmond, Virginia, in 1999, Summit Financial Planning is a Registered Investment Advisory firm specializing in asset and wealth management, servicing individual clients and corporations on a fee-only basis. The fee-only model assures clients that our recommendations are not motivated by commissions of any kind.
At Summit, we also offer our services on a project basis, believing that everybody, regardless of individual assets and/or income level, can benefit from professional financial advice. Jennifer Luzzatto
President, Summit Financial Planning, Inc.
 Jennifer Luzzatto, CFA, CFP®, began her career as a fixed-income trader in a regional brokerage firm. This background paved the way for her to join a commercial bank where she managed personal trust accounts, institutional portfolios and a municipal bond mutual fund. Jennifer transitioned from her career in banking to financial planning and investment advisory services in 1999 when she founded Summit Financial Planning, Inc., in Richmond, Virginia. Jennifer’s straightforward financial planning and investment philosophy emphasizes keeping things relatively simple, being faithful to regular savings contributions, and developing a strategy that clients can maintain over the long term.
Throughout her more than 20 years in the financial services industry, Jennifer has strived to increase her education and knowledge base. She has earned her Masters of Business Administration from the University of Richmond, and her Chartered Financial Analyst designation, a high-level credential typically earned by institutional money managers. She is also a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, a Certified College Planning Specialist, and a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Planners (NAPFA). A frequently quoted expert on financial matters, Jennifer was also a contributor to the 2008 publication, “Investing in an Uncertain Economy for Dummies.” She provided tip number 46. In 2008, Jennifer was appointed to the board of The Community Tax Law Project (www.ctlp.org), a charitable organization that provides tax assistance to those who cannot afford to pay for these services. She serves as chair of their investment committee. She is a member of the Richmond Estate Council.
Jennifer and her husband have a young daughter, three “All American” breed dogs, and not nearly enough free time to pursue a budding passion: SCUBA diving.
Sharon Kinter
Para-Financial Planner, Summit Financial Planning, Inc.
 Sharon Kinter is a graduate of James Madison University (Harrisonburg, Virginia). She has a background in Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources. Sharon began her career as an Accounting and Financial Analyst for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Virginia (Anthem). Corporate restructuring transitioned her into the Human Resources department. Her new role was in Employee Compensation Planning where she later became a Certified Compensation Consultant through the nationally recognized organization “World at Work”.
In 1997, Sharon and her husband Kevin, both Richmond natives, moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina where she held a job as a Compensation Consultant for the Swedish telecommunications company, Ericsson, Inc. In 1999, Sharon worked for the International Pharmaceutical Company, GlaxoSmithKline, as an Executive Compensation and Benefits Consultant. In this role, Sharon consulted on GSK’s Executive Compensation and Benefits packages to ensure competiveness in both US and Global markets.
Sharon joined Summit Financial Planning in June 2010. Sharon brings to the firm her passion for helping families achieve their financial goals through careful Financial Planning and Budgeting. She is on track to take the CFP® exam in 2011.
Sharon is a wife, mother of 2 boys (7 and 9), and 2 golden retrievers. In her spare time, Sharon enjoys being with her family doing anything outdoors.
